MISSION STATEMENT

Through humor and education we hope to educate and inspire others to be loving, responsible pet owners.

We have been pet owners all of our lives. We were born into pet owning families. Cats, dogs, birds, fish, turtles, you name it.

We do not encourage anyone to have terriers for pets. It is our belief that terrier owners are born, not made. And, all though, in a weak moment, we purchased Pepper from a pet store, we were well aware of what we could be getting into and we DO NOT recomend that anyone should do the same.

We are fortunate that Pepper is healthy. Most puppies that are found at pet stores are from puppy mills or back yard breeders. While some back yard breeders love their puppies, and take good care of them, most only want to get rid of unwanted dogs.

As you have seen, Pepper was represented as a Smooth Fox Terrier. She looked like a pet quality one when we purchased her. After a few weeks, I knew that was not the case.

We have since determined, by researching the breed standards for various terriers, that she is a Toy Fox Terrier.

It is also possible that her parents came from a puppy mill that was closed a year and a half ago. There were terriers as well as other dogs found in deplorable conditions.

All too often, dogs with this type of background have or develope serious health problems.

So far, we have been lucky, but we are not out of the woods yet.

Foxfire, however, was purchased from a reputable breeder. There is no question of his history.

As I am sure you have seen, he is healthy, full of energy and sassy, with the emphasis on sassy, as all good terriers are.

Later, we hope to include health tips and nutrition information as well as a plan for those who want a dog to go about getting a good, healthy animal.

See you soon!
