Suncatcher's Modified Trubocharged Sportster

Tells his story.....

My story begins some time after my conception in September of 2002.  I came into awareness in a warm, dark place.  I knew that I had a destiny and I could, in my little mind's eye, see a man and woman.  I heard their voices and knew that they were my humans, but they were talking about the wrong dog!

They were talking about a different breed and whether they would want to get a dog of that breed.

I immediately knew I must do something about this and began sending messages to the woman.  She must have a smooth fox terrier pup because she loves the breed so much.

By November they had changed their minds and said they would get a smooth pup, should they be able to find one.

So, when the possibility of an earthdog trial came up, my breeder entered my father and went to the earthdog trial where she met the woman, whom she had first met 5 years earlier.

They didn't really know each other, as my breeder does mostly conformation, for which I was bred, while the other woman does mostly performance events.

When the woman saw my father, she knew she wanted a pup from him.

My breeder told her that she had a litter due and agreed to sell a pup to the woman, but the woman still didn't have it right.  She talked of a female!  I sent a message to my breeder and she looked at the woman and said, "you want a male, though, don't you?"

The woman said she really hadn't made a decision, so I went to work on her again.

By the time I was whelped, the message had gotten through and the man and woman made up their minds to have a male.  Whew!  That was very hard work.

Then the woman contacted my breeder.  They would make arrangements to see my litter, but my breeder chose my brother for them, not me!

Twice she took my brother to the city where the woman lived and twice the woman was away at agility trials.

Being a smart pup, I ate less and encouraged my   brother to eat more.  It was easy, as we all love food.

Then, I sent a message to the woman.  She was talking to the man about whether they should really get me.  Maybe, as they had missed the breeder twice, they shouldn't have a pup at this time.

OH, NO!  That was awful!  I closed my little eyes and projected myself into the woman's mind.  My little face appeared to her and I told her my true name.

Two hours later  she called my breeder and said she would take the split faced pup, sight unseen.

Arrangements were made, but they fell through!

More arrangements were made, but they didn't work out.

Meantime, my brother, who was to go to the woman, got fat.  I stayed thin.  I was sure the woman would choose me for performance because I was thin.

When the day finally came to meet the man and woman, they arrived early.  Even though the woman had not seen me, she knew me even when my breeder took me from the crate tail first.

She  snatched me and held me close.  She told the breeder that I was the one.

The breeder wanted her to look at all the pups.   She didn't want too, but she put me down and looked then said, "I want the split face.  He's mine."

She insisted.  She put a little purple harness on me, then put a fleece coat on me and gave the breeder a check.

Was cold, so she took me to their van and put me in a crate with a little warm bed in it.

I was not myself that day, because I'd gotten into the trash and eaten a large pieced of trash bag.  My breeder didn't know.  I threw the plastic up on my way home.

When we arrived at our house, I could hear The Big Fox.

When he saw me, he screamed "The baby smooth is here!  The baby smooth is here!"  He knew I was coming.

He ran out of the family room and washed the smell of the other pups off, getting me so wet that my mom had to dry me with a towel.

Cookie and Chip danced around me grinning and laughing!

I was home, at last.
